Right after years of superior support my R-1800 printer started out providing me messages of impending doom so I made the decision to upgrade to the 2880. As always Adorama took my buy and I had the printer inside of forty eight hrs. Adorama has their stuff with each other on obtaining the item to you. Set up was a breeze and the machine was prepared inside of 35 min. The print screens are various than the 1800, not fairly as intuitive but clear sufficient. When printing on matt paper there is no question that the 2880 has better colour and distinction than the 1800. On glossy paper the 1800 search is tough to conquer, but the 2800 generates a wonderfull print with, I consider, a bit much more contrast and shadow detail. B & W prints are much, significantly much better than with the 1800. There is one merchandise however that is nonetheless up in the air with me. That is what do you do with either the Image Black or Matt Black cartridge when you are printing on the other sort of paper. In speaking with buddies who use the 2200 & 2800 they had informed me that they maintain the unused cartridge wraped in plastic and stored in a little zip lock bag when it is not in use. Epson, on the other hand, recomends against this apply in the User Guidebook, recomending that when you take out a cartridge, that cartridge must be discarded. To me, that is a extremely impractical resolution that wastes a good deal of the two ink & cash. Epson requires to adress this difficulty and locate one more much more practical answer to fine tune what is in any other case a great printer.

I'm a good artwork landscape photographer that makes and sells exhibition-quality archival prints. I use Epson big format skilled printers, mainly my trusty 7800 for the vast majority of my output. Nonetheless, I essential to change an aging Epson 1280 that I nonetheless use to do small output like organization cards up to 8x12s. The 2880 fit the bill for its ability to generate good quality that seems to meet or exceed that of my 7800, will take roll-paper as opposed to the following phase up, and is not quite as pricey to run for more compact, infrequent jobs. What is not so great is that I am acquiring a tricky time locating profiles that will be a close-to-perfect match for my 7800 output in phrases of colour and density and might will need to have a customized profile built. There does not seem to be a consistency in profile excellent throughout the Epson line. The similar apparent profiles do not render the similar benefits, but I'm nonetheless working at it. The other niggle is a single I knew heading in - the dimensions of the ink cartridges are really inadequate for a printer that uses this substantially ink. Finally, I do not see a significant variation among the benefits with the "vivid" magenta in contrast to the older version.

This is a fantastic printer. My previous printer, which was a model X,while being a quite very good printer for the price, just was not up to the process. Finally the good quality of my prints match the good quality of the pictures that I was seeing on my Mac.When I very first got this Epson I had a COMPUTER which was a few of many years aged and I was really let down by the lengthy time that it took to print a photo.Soon soon after receiving the Epson I upgraded to a Mac and I was astonished at how considerably quicker my Epson printed.Mixed with the Mac I'm receiving some very nice high quality prints that rival the photo retailer.I enjoy the custom attribute that permits me to make some incredibly good oversize posters. My only complaint also has to do with the oversize posters however.Occasionally the Epson just can't make up its mind which paper tray to use on the posters. No huge deal tho.It does seem to use a small much more ink than the brand X but nothing at all I cannot live with.Bottom line:Good work

I have been utilizing this printer primarily for printing 8X10 and 4X6 color photos. Most of my images have been shot in RAW to acquire the exact colour and contrast I desired. The R2880 reproduced every single photograph remarkably correctly. Extremely impressed with this design and remarkably recommend.

There are dozens of evaluations out there so I won't go in to minute detail. If you like preceding Epson photo printers in the 1200, 1800, 2000/2200 series, you will like this one particular. So much it really is the greatest Epson I've utilized for Black & White by much and alongside the lines of the R2400. If you've been frustrated attempting to print B&W with the R800, R1800, 1270, 1280 or the 2200, then this will fix that for you.Uncomplicated to set up and use and a acceptable footprint. The new print interface is still familiar, but seems to be a little faster.I am dissatisfied to see they aren't using the gloss optimizer cartridge on this design and would love to see them make it so both blacks (matte and picture) could be set up at the similar time.I will hold the R1800 to do glossy colour prints simply because of the Gloss Optimizer cartridge.
