There are dozens of testimonials out there so I will not go in to minute detail. If you like previous Epson photograph printers in the 1200, 1800, 2000/2200 collection, you will like this a single. So far it is the ideal Epson I've employed for Black & White by significantly and alongside the lines of the R2400. If you've been annoyed trying to print B&W with the R800, R1800, 1270, 1280 or the 2200, then this will repair that for you.Uncomplicated to set up and use and a realistic footprint. The new print interface is still familiar, but seems to be a tiny quicker.I'm let down to see they aren't employing the gloss optimizer cartridge on this model and would enjoy to see them make it so each blacks (matte and image) could be installed at the identical time.I will preserve the R1800 to do glossy color prints due to the fact of the Gloss Optimizer cartridge.

I have a new Epson R2880 printer. Those who know me, know that I IN NO WAY print at household. It all goes out to a lab. Properly, numerous close friends told me that I must get a printer but….you had been speaking to a brick wall. But a new friend convinced me to give it a go. To say I was apprehensive could be gentle. I want factors yesterday and I want them easy. I had no explanation to believe that printing in house was basic. I have listened to you all, printer settings, color complications, alignment, paper, clogged printer heads, ICC profiles, fees, and so on, it all sounded like a actual trouble. I have to acknowledge, it came and all I could consider was “What the heck was I considering?” I had true combined emotions. The excitement of immediate gratification. BUT what if it doesn’t work or I am too thick headed to use it? I have to acknowledge it took me a complete day ahead of I opened that box. I took every thing out. Took all the tape off the printer, plugged it in, installed the ink…so far so excellent, it hasn’t little bit me but or squirted ink all over the place! Billed the ink, loaded paper. Now I installed the software and followed the directions. Okay now what??? The last stage says I am ready to print. I have a pack of Epson Ultra Premium Picture Paper (Luster). I really feel really silly. What do I PRINT??? So I print the final photo that I edited. It is coming off the printer, Uhhhh, I don’t consider so. This is HIDEOUS. It is so dim I can barely see something. See I realized I couldn’t do it. S PRIME, Chill out, believe. Maybe I just obtained too excited. I only study the COMMENCE RIGHT HERE document! It stated I was “ready to print”. So let’s “RTM” Let’s read the element known as “Printing from begin to finish” Did you know that printers have preferences and paper sorts? Top quality setting (I know what that is!). HUMMM, Choose “Mode Setting” Epson or Adobe RGB, now I have to make choices? Geezz. Print once more. This appears SUBSTANTIALLY superior. Well, allow me try out to make a extended story short so you don’t all fall asleep. Second print superior but not fairly there. I played with the printer configurations and by about the Eighth print items look very good. Reeeeally very good. I know that I nevertheless have a whole lot to learn about. This is a great printer.My preceding printer,which was a brand name X,while currently being a extremely excellent printer for the cost,just was not up to the activity.Ultimately the high quality of my prints match the high quality of the photos that I was viewing on my Mac.When I initially received this Epson I had a COMPUTER which was a few of years aged and I was really disappointed by the extended time that it took to print a photograph.Soon following finding the Epson I upgraded to a Mac and I was amazed at how substantially quicker my Epson printed.Combined with the Mac I am getting some incredibly great excellent prints that rival the photo shop.I really like the customized attribute that will allow me to generate some very nice oversize posters.My only criticism also has to do with the oversize posters however.Often the Epson just cannot make up its thoughts which paper tray to use on the posters.No massive deal tho.It does seem to use a tiny far more ink than the brand X but nothing at all I can not reside with.Bottom line:Good job

In basic, I am not content with this printer. I thought to be the R2880 for sometime. I bought it following reading some favorable reviews stating that even though the ink carts have been smaller than the R2400, the R2880 was more effective in its ink use and, consequently, could be anticipated to use approximately the similar amount of ink as its predecessor. When the R2880 is working the way it is intended to it does a wonderful task. Color and B&W prints search wonderful. What I am obtaining is the printer is finicky in its conduct. If you do not decide on the proper paper route the printer will enter into an error mode which requires an extended head cleansing cycle purging enormous quantities of ink. I read this of this in a number of other evaluations but it appeared to be isolated. In addition, right after turning on the printer right after currently being off for a number of days it once more goes as a result of an prolonged head cleaning cycle consuming even additional ink. I owned a 2200 previous to this printer that by no means had any issues like this. My only conclusion is that Epson's style is defective.I can not advocate this printer if just about every time I flip on the printer, or there is an error it consumes ink. Epson's inks are way too high priced to tolerate this.1 extra issue I have is with Epson buyer assistance. I realize that the R2880 is a "consumer" level printer.
